Anubhav’s Weight Loss Journey
Tell Us A Little Bit About Your Weight Struggle
I was the laziest person in my home. Most of the time in bed with a laptop, mobile, internet, youtube and social media, munching on chips and other processed foods and fried snacks.
My father and brothers used to scold me a lot. I was so lazy that I hardly dare to move out of my bed to even drink water. I resisted drinking water because I had to go to pee every time I took a drink. Now, you can imagine how lazy I was and the reason for my soaring weight??
Many even used to tease me about my puffed tummy. Used to call me, “father of two kids,” eventhough I am still unmarried.
I was 84 Kilograms (just over 185 pounds) by 4 August 2019 and was looking for a way to work on this. Two options were there for me way back then, join the gym or balanced dieting.
I had opted for later because I had already joined gyms many different times since my school days. But, I joined only to leave the very next month or before.
What Was Your Wake-Up Call Or “A-Ha Moment” That Caused You To Really Commit Yourself To Succeeding?
One fine day I was walking casually with my sister in a park. She was on her evening walk but not me. I was there for a time pass as I was feeling bored sitting in my room. While we were walking, she told me about a recent video that she saw on youtube.
The story was about a lady in her fifties and she went for a full-body medical checkup. After her medical report, the doctor admired her for her healthy kidney and liver.
The doctor complimented her saying, “Your liver and kidney are as young as a kid’s”. This very line by that doctor gave me a strong volt of inspiration deep in my nerves as I myself have a fatty liver and had suffered from kidney stones recently.
The important thing to note here is, I am still 30 years old. That very day, I decided, I am gonna work on myself and get prepared for a healthy life.
How Have Your Eating Habits Changed Since Beginning Your Journey? What Did You Eat Before And What Are You Eating Now?
I made a diet plan and started tracking my daily calorie intake on the app.
Leaving my bed was the most difficult task for me to do. But I made my mind to go out for a brisk walk and downloaded another app to track my daily steps. I had to lose around 22kgs (about 48-½ pounds) in total.
So, made a decision to break my fat into two phases. The first goal was losing 10KGs (about 22 pounds) with at least daily 8k to 10k steps of walking.
So, I went about it. I started tracking my daily calorie intake in the app. I was eating around 1,400 cal per day.
Slowly, I reduced it to 1,100 cal with the help of low carbs meals. I reduced my daily intake of 8 rotis (breads) to 2 and filled the gap with more veggies and weight-loss-friendly foods like oats.
I focused more on eating low carbs food. Mushrooms, Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Green Beans, Soybeans Chunks, Papaya, etc., became my best food friends. I worked successfully on my daily weight loss routine.
What Is The Difference In Your Fitness Before You Started And Now?
Healthy eating, drinking 10 glasses of water, workout, motivation and new good habits worked like charm for me.
I was able to reduce around 10Kg (22 pounds) in about 2 months.
The water helped my skin to shine, pimples vanished and I look fairer than before. My kidney stone vanished with a daily intake of water. I learned, how to have self-control and its importance.
Most importantly, I made new friends online and offline on the journey.
I feel happy when my friends and family see me and their first reaction is “WOW” and then “HOW”. Mouth, round and open for some time!
What Has Been The Biggest Change/Payoff For You So Far?
Losing weight has taught me a lot about life and people.
And with this small success, I am gonna help make others succeed. Keep eating healthy food in your calorie budget and keep walking for weight loss.
I try to maintain a healthy diet and focus on low calories high-volume food items. I wake up early in the morning, drink Lukewarm lemon water, and then go for a brisk walk at least 6 KM (about 3.7 miles).
My weight loss journey helped me get featured in an international magazine GQ. Recently got featured in another Asian magazine, DesiBlitz, and India’s bestselling newspaper, The Times of India. My weight loss was also praised by film, The Secret: Law of Attraction.
I wish everyone a healthy and happy life. The mission is only impossible when you leave it. Last but not least, LOSE FAT NOT HOPE.
How Much Weight Have You Lost? How Long Did It Take You To Lose It?
I was able to reduce around 10 Kg (22 pounds) in about 2 months. If you calculate on a weekly basis then I lost around 1.2 kgs (a little over 2-½ pounds) in a week. And, 5 kgs (just over 11 pounds) in a month.

Some Advice and/or Words of Wisdom I’d Like To Share
Self-control is crucial as I said before. Actually, you have to go through many changes in your habits.
Changing habits takes time and not easy actually when it comes to leave unhealthy food and a poor lifestyle and switch to a healthier one.
Discipline is another important thing that needs to be maintained throughout your journey.
Dedication and motivation are the only things that will keep you energetic throughout your journey. If this is not in place, chances are, you would leave your mission halfway.
And, this is why I give so much importance to motivation whether it is business, job, studies, exams, losing weight, or anything in life.
